Sherman Phoenix
Based out of the Sherman Phoenix Marketplace in Milwaukee, WI, gener8tor Art x Sherman Phoenix runs year round programming that is free and open to the public, including a one-month Master Class series around building a profession out of your art practice, community programming in the form of workshops, webinars, and artist talks, and one-on-one office hours and mentoring opportunities.

The Business Community Resources are events, workshops, drop in consulting, panel discussions, networking opportunities, access to resources and service providers and other entrepreneurial support opportunities offered for the Greater Milwaukee entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Sherman Phoenix Accelerator
In addition to the public programming, artists are invited to apply for the gener8tor Art x Sherman Phoenix 7 week accelerator program. Up to 20 artists will receive grants ranging from $1,000 -$10,000 and 7 weeks of individualized mentorship on how to strengthen the business side of their art practice.
Business Development
Academy
The Business Development Academy has year round opportunities for technical assistance, training, professional development, coaching, workshops, and consulting. The Academy will accept new participants twice a year. Spring Enrollment is closed, the next enrollment will be in the Fall of 2023.
Entrepreneurial Help Desk
Technical assistance will be available in the form of legal, accounting, marketing, and financial advisory services. Subject Matter Experts will coach business owners individually to provide custom, one-on-one support. To qualify for the help desk, participants must be registered for the Business Development Academy
Phoenix Rising Small Business Grant
Entrepreneurs and small businesses have the opportunity to apply for up to $5,000 one-time grant funds to support the start up or scale up expenses for their business. Applicants will be able to apply for funds to support business supplies, leasing deposits, business equipment, professional development, licensing and certification fees, membership dues to professional organizations/associations, business renewals or annual fees, and other expenses related to supporting their business. Applications will be accepted and awarded quarterly. Only registered and active Business Development Academy participants are eligible for this funding.

Enrollment is currently close, but we are always looking for interested business service providers who can assist, coach, and expand our entrepreneurs' businesses. Phoenix Rising will help its entrepreneurs pay for your services if your business if selected.
